16September2012 - Sleepless night; In all things, Praise the Lord!; thePhantom of the Opera(:

(♪ Til' I Hear You Sing - Love Never Die)

The only reason I'm typing this on my phone, is the fact that it's 1:51am and I can't seem to fall asleep... So /: decided to blog.

Firstly, I just realized that I did not blog about my results! Haha! Well, I can either post a picture of my results or type it out. But instead of being lazy to post the picture, I've decide to type it out instead. If you want to view my results in a photo format, do search me up on Instagram (@ilovetomatoes). Anyway, this is my results for semester 1.1

Financial Accounting; B+
Microeconomics; A
Principle of Management; B+
Business Office Application; B
Writing and Presentation; DISTINCTION
Applied Principles of Effective Living (APEL); PASS
GPA; 3.6

For most subjects, it really came as a pleasant surprise, and for a minority, the result was kind of expected. For example, my Financial Accounting, I thought that my grade will be totally screwed since I kind of totally screwed up my paper. Although a majority of m friends all told me that my coursework (which I got an A) would pull me up, however I wasn't expecting this much of a lift! This is really a miracle. Really really praise the Lord! Cause if you looked at the number of questions I was confident answering the questions, it was really very little. And unless I get all correct, it really seemed super difficult for me to pass. However, like what others say, at least I filled in the blanks. Meaning I might have the chance of scoring some questions that I thought I answered wrongly but was actually correct. Really thank God for his favour and wisdom! I promise to practice harder for FA2! This was really a close shave and God's mercy. I really believe this. Thank God! Microeconomics I really think I outdone my expectations! Seems like my (sort of) midnight oil actually produced some results! (: thank God! Really praise the Lord for my results! It was really better than what I have expected. It was so much better than whatever I have imagined! Really, praise the Lord! (: indeed, once again, what you sow is what you reap.

Having a GPA of 3.6 at sem 1.1 is a pretty good start, I think. Well, but that doesn't mean I can slacken. Next semester is the semester where I will be taking 2 "electives" (aka Cross Disciplinary Subjects; CDS). From what my brother say... I've chosen CDS that are hard to score... But if I get it, I believe that I will really truly enjoy studying it. However, that's for the first 2 CDS I have picked. Now, I think phonetics is also abit stupid.../: well, I'm not sure. But at that moment, I was thinking like in a presentation, one area that people take note is your pronunciation. And pronunciation can be learnt by reading the phonetic symbols that the dictionary provides. However, in schools, we aren't thought how to read phonetic symbols. Therefore, I thought it would be beneficial to learn that. Honestly, I can only remember signing up for this 3 CDS. But honestly, I really hope I can get into my first 2 choice. Which is introductory Japanese and introduction to Sociology. Both I'm equally passionate about and would totally adore. However, at the same time, they are really a popular subject. So... /: hope that I won't regret whatever I have chosen/got. But really, I pray that I can enter into my first 2 choice...

Okay, my studies aside. Today was a pretty slow day. At dinner, there was a little argument. However, after awhile, it managed to be resolved. Praise the Lord! (:

Okay, I think it should be time to try and sleep now! Goodnight!

In all things praise the Lord!

SIDE NOTE: Recently, I have been super intrigued/drawn to the Phantom of the Opera. Well partially was due to the suaveness of the Phantom/Angel of Music/Erik, and not to mention the intensity of the drama and plot. However, there was also a part of me that was drawn into the music that was played and sang during the entire course of the show/musical. One of my favorite scenes from the Phantom of the Opera is the Final Lair where the Phantom tries to force Christine Daaé to stay with him and then finally the hero, Raoul, tries miserably to intervene and rescue his damsel in distress. In this scene, everything was exploding into a firework of awesomeness. The mix of voices and melody coupled with the drama and acting really made one totally engaged with the scene. It was really really really good. Bravo!

P.s; Ramin Karimloo has such a BEAUTIFUL voice. <3 data-blogger-escaped-br="br">
P.s.p.s; really looking forward to see the sequel of the Phantom of the Opera - Love Never Dies. So far I've heard a few songs from the sequel - Devil take the Hindmosts & Under the Moonless Sky - and it was absolutely 100% without a doubt brilliant! Can't wait to see the entire show (although I already know what is going to happen thanks to Wikipedia..) keke! :B

P.s.p.s.p.s; the version of the Final Lair that I totally love. This is taken from the 25th anniversary of the show. (:
