OOTD! 29th September 2012

Today nothing special occasion. But I went out today to have a (weekly) family dinner with my paternal grandma. My only living (and recognized) grandparent. My maternal grandma passed away when I was primary 4. My maternal grandpa passed away before I was even born. I don't really know my paternal grandpa... Soo..

Anyway! Today as usual. I bathed and changed and got ready for dinner! Dinner is usually super casual. We just head out to Bishan (cause my grandma lives and work near there) and eat at the food court at Junction8. Which is super casual. No need to doll up or anything.

the LOOK -

Bottom; Gift
Accessories;
1) Bracelet: Handmade
2) USA Disney Necklace: Gift
Shoes; Chinatown Boutique. ~$20
Bag; Gift

Okay so lets start off with the shirt! The shirt I wore was the same shirt I wore to choir this Monday. It's the peacock print dress-turned-shirt. And yes I did the exact same thing that I did on Monday. I just tucked in the sides of my dress into my skinnies and voila! Instant transformation! Which is so totally awesome I feel. Haha!

Okay so usually when I go out to have dinner with my family, I don't wear shorts. Rather I wear jeans. And my favorite pair of denim jeans is this pair that I'm wearing. I'm like wearing it for a majority of the year. The only time I don't wear it is when it's in the laundry. For this jeans, there's nothing special or anything. It's just a dark (navy) blue pair of skinnies. It's really comfortable and 'figure' hugging. So it isn't baggy or anything. Which I really do like!(:

Today I did not wear any jacket/cardigans mainly cause of the peacock print. I mean it is such a waste if I just cover the print with my cardi right? And another reason, is that I'm just too lazy to carry my cardigan when I take it off. :B

Okay. So for accessories, I kept it fairly simple meaning no statement rings, no ear rings. All I had was my simple handmade chain bracelet. And that's all for accessories. For shoes I wore my white pumps (that I got for my prom).

My bag/clutch/pouch is a coral colour with a rather cute cartoon at the front of the pouch saying to 'Save the Birds' personally, I feel that this is super ironical for me to carry cause I hate birds. So it's like whaaaaa! But yeah! Ignoring that part of the bag, it's a pretty much nice and awesome bag. The size is so perfect for those days where your stuffs are so few that its insane to bring a fat ass big bag but at the same time it's stinking stupid to not even bring a bag at all. So I usually carry it when I go and meet my grandma for dinner cause it can fit my iPhone, earpiece, tissue paper (packs of it!), key, ezlink and some cash (which I squeeze with my ezlink card holder)

Yep! So this is my outfit of the day! Somehow it seems like as though half of the posts are all like OOTD related. /: Oops! KEKE!

Now don't worry, I will still blog things that aren't OOTD, but OOTDs will be more daily, especially when I'm going out. (: but don't worry, I will still blog normal stuff. After all, this isn't a fashion blog. It's a normal blog!(:

Have fun and stay safe!

OOTD! 28th September 2012

In case you haven't really realized, everytime I go out, I will try my best to remember to do an Outfit of the Day (aka OOTD) post (:

So today, 28th September, what's the special occasion? :O

Today is my dearest sister-in-law, Priscina, birthday. And her parents were very kind and allowed her to bring 2 friends. And Priscina chose me. Which I'm super honored!

So anyway, it's a small dinner party but it was held at Crowne Plaza Hotel at Changi Airport; Terminal 3. And since we were dining at a restaurant in a hotel at Changi Airport. It somehow just clicked that I cannot be dressed too sloppily since after all, it's a HOTEL. Hence I decided to wear a dress! (:

The LOOK:
Dress; Chinatown boutique
Jacket; gift? :O
Accessories;
1) Belt: ~$10. Roadside store near Temasek Polytechnic
2) Ear rings: ~$5. Bugis street
3) Bracelet: ~$5. Bugis street
4) USA Disney Necklace: Gift
Shoes; ~$20. Chinatown boutique

Okay. So when I was thinking of wearing a dress, the first thing that came to my mind was my prom dress! Yes you read correctly. The red polka dot dress I wore today is actually my prom dress. (: it's a red dress with small minuscule white polka dots. The dots aren't really that large. Rather, it's smaller and from afar, one can easily mistaken it as a plain red dress.

This dress has an A-line cut. The top is a very conservative boat neck cut. Its sleeveless hence showing off some skin. It does not synch in or anything, and this is super cool as it allows the wearer to 'adjust' where their thinnest part of their body is. Also, without the elastic that synch in the waistline, the dress looks more on the formal end.

The bottom of the dress, is cut in an A cut silhouette - meaning its a flare. Because its a flare, it gives a false impression of curves that did not be there. And this is one way to make others believe that you have an absolutely gorgeous figure. Also, the skirt is plaited hence giving it a small pop instead of it just being all plain and boring.

For my belt, I used a rather chocolate-y brown colored belt. The reason why is cause I only have this belt. HAHA! Well firstly, I bought this colour cause brown is a neutral colour. Hence it can really easily match with other colors regardless on where it is in the colour wheel. The belt is a skinny woven belt. As the belt is too long, what I did was I used the excess belt to make into an infinity loop at the front (near the buckle) of the belt. This tip was learnt from Chriselle Lim for Chriselle Inc.

As I was not going to go straight to the hotel, I decided to put on this dark wash denim jacket. This denim jacket cuts off at my waist, and the material isn't too think or thin. Although the jacket had pictures on it, but it was minimal and really did not make the whole outfit look too overboard. The denim jacket, in my opinion, really toned down the formal look of the dress.

Next up, the shoes I wore my white peep toe wedges that I (once again!) wore to my prom! (: now white shoes is cause there's white on my dress (the polka dots)!

Now the ear rings I wore was the blue and green polka dots ear rings that I got at Bugis street not long back. I chose this pair of ear rings, well mainly cause they are my FAVORITE pair of ear rings, but also cause blue and green are complementary colors to the red. Simply put it, in the colour wheel, red is directly opposite blue and green. Hence this allows them to complement each other and work in harmony (; another reason is cause of the polka dot pattern on the ear ring~

Now for 'jewelry'. For bracelet, I are the wrapped bracelet that I got at Bugis street. Firstly, it's very classic. I mean it IS black and gold. Secondly, the gold chains of the bracelet will help make the overall look less formal, and more relaxed. (:

I did not wear any rings neither did I wear any necklace. Cause I felt that adding those pieces will be an overkill. So yah!

Hope you liked today's OOTD post! Do stay tune for more legit posts!(: till then, stay happy!

Ramin Karimloo - A man of unexplainable awesomeness.

I can't really pinpoint WHY Ramin Karimloo is awesome, but oh my gosh... He's just so AWESOME! <3

Is it the power of his voice? The thickness and richness of his voice or what? I have entirely no idea. But oh my...

<3

Really can't pinpoint what was just so awesome about it. But it was just THAT marvelous!

... but with all respect, he's married. /:

P.s: YES! I'm once again having sleepless night...

Life; a game of choice - Unable to sleep. Sudden epiphany?! No! It's just a snapping out of the pitiful mentality.

OKAY! I'm still unable to sleep and boy am I pissed.

And while lying on my bed. I realized that something was troubling me. Yeah. You prolly guessed it correctly. It's my choir stuff. Now don't get me wrong. I'm having fun and I do LOVE choir ALOT. But it's like. Today we were told to sing with more chesty voice. And I felt like dunking my head in water. Cause I have NO IDEA how to achieve a chesty voice! Or maybe I'm achieving it already but just that I don't know. I'm not sure... But it's like urghhhhh!

And I was like "Why sopranos can easily reach the desired 'texture', while us altos are like always always always having trouble?" it's like when you are really very tired and pissed off, all those little devils start telling you about how good other people/parts are better and how you always get the shitty part?

But you know what? Life is all about CHOICES. and you know what? From now on, I CHOOSE to love altos part. Not that I don't love it now. But I'm gonna stick by my part and say "Yes, Sops, you guys sound awesome. But you know what, altos can sing as beautifully as you!".

Change the attitude first; and everything will follow after.

Weirdly interesting Dream. Hmmm...

Okay! So since I can't sleep, I shall continue blogging (;

So this post is gonna be about this super weird dream I had last night. I can almost swear that half of your will laugh your asses off when you read To be honest, I'm a little hesitant. But , oh well. I can't control my dreams darling! (TT TT) so laugh with me. It was really super super (O__O) especially since the party involved in my dream was... Somebody whom I will CONVENIENTLY call Mr. D

Well, it wasn't a dirty dream or what not. It was actually a real funny dream that made TOTALLY no sense at all! In my dream, Mr. D has a son! A super cute child. He and his son enter a room that had like wooden floor. And then me and his son got super attached after he tackled me and I tackled back. Then he left his son in my care. And went back to grab his daughter. And I was like thinking "Dude where's your wife?"

Anyway, after he brought back his daughter, I woke up. Which is super convenient (I felt) but I think it was better that the dream just ended there. Cause I can't imagine what would happen if the dream continued. Maybe I would find out the identity of the children's mother. Or maybe it will just evolve into some weirdo dream.

I don't know and honestly is super happy that it ended there. Making it short, sweet, simple and weird; but in a good way.

But I swear, throughout the ENTIRE dream, only one thing was in my mod. 'Mr. D has kids?!' keke!

Okay, this shall end my post. Keke! Short and random. Awesome much!

HAHA! Well anyway, it wasn't really meant to be a LONG post or anything since the dream was super weird and short and lack of any life changing information (that would most likely be fake. Since its a dream) hence, this.

The only reason why I posted this entry was cause I found it kinda hilarious that I had a dream regarding HIM and also that it was so queer and out of the blue.

Cheerssss!(:

OOTD! (: 25 September 2012

YOYOYO! Once again, I'm back for another OOTD post! Keke!

the LOOK:
Top: Loose button up Top - Pasar Malam
Bottom: Dark Wash Denim Shorts - Uniqlo
Accesories: Duo colored chain bracele - Self made
Button statement Ring - Bugis Street
Disney Name Necklace - gift from Jia Qi
Shoes: Black pumps (flats) - Topshop

Today I chose a beige/pastel orange super loose button up shirt. I'm not very sure of the material but one thing I know is that its light and the material is very flow-y. To a certain extent, it's formal looking yet to another extent, it isn't. So other than the poor description of clothes skill I have, its also rather difficult to describe this top. This top was bought at the Pasar Malam which was held at the empty plot of land beside Tampines interchange for about $10 if I never remember wrongly /:

The shorts I wore are my Uniqlo dark wash denim shorts! Keke! They are like my all-time favorite shorts! Well firstly cause its my ONLY pair of dark washed denim shorts and secondly cause it's just so dead comfortable. And cummon, who don't love shorts? But one thing to note, this shorts don't really synch in at my waist so there's like a slight gap between my body and the denim fabric when I seat down and stuff like that. Hence I need a belt!(; talking of which, I need to fix my belt...

Moving on! Accesories! For the bracelet, it's a self made bracelet. What I did was I mixed 2 different kind of chain. One is like a blackish silver color while the other was a silver color chain. I have 3 "strands" and I placed them 'parallel' to each other the different color strand being sandwiched by the 2 same colored strand. Because like yesterday, this top makes the entire outfit look very soft and feminine (loose fabric and denim shorts. Duh?). The button top also gives a vibe of sophistication (today was kind of like a lazy sophistication), hence instead of sticking to yesterday's wrap bracelet, I swapped it to this. Which gave the look an edge and a tougher look. For ring, I donned on my button ring which I got from Bugis Street. The button ring is a ring that is so fun and cute and at the same time makes the 'pop' and statement.

For shoes, I stuck to my trusty Topshop black pumps! Another all own favorite! (:

Well! This will conclude my OOTD (aka Outfit of the Day) post! Unlike most pictures, OOTD isn't posted on Instagram. Why? Cause I'm just not comfortable with it, I guess...

Anyway! Up next will be a blog about chorale practice for the past two days. (:

That's ALL!

OOTD! (24 September 2011)

First ever on this blog! OOTD! OOTD! I know I should be using my laptop to post this post since there's a picture an all. However, as always, I have this thing called procrastination. And whenever I have a short pause, the urge/rush to post will suddenly die off till I no longer feel like posting.

ANYWAY! Enough of the explanation and on with the OOTD post!

the LOOK:
Top: Peacock dress - gift from Jia Qi
Bottom: Denim shorts - Uniqlo
Accessories: Zebra ring - Arab Street
Black and Gold chain wrap bracelet - Bugis Street
Shoes: Black pumps - Topshop

Now the top was originally an empire dress (wiki if needed), however, the garter below the bust area loosened hence making it no longer an empire cut. When my dad ask me if I still wanted to keep it. I replied "yes" reason is simple. Although I cannot revert the dress back to a dress, but I super duper love the print and material. Further more it was a gift from Jia Qi. And by just tucking in the edges, the dress no longer look like but a dress but rather like a loose top.

For bottoms, I wore my dark wash denim shorts that was purchased from Uniqlo during the Great Singapore Sale period.

As the top by itself is already super feminine and all, I toughened the look up by wearing a gold chain wrap bracelet with a black thick thread running through the chains. The gold metal ware and thickness of the final result somehow exuded a kind of roughness, effectively neutralizing the softness of the entire outfit.

The ring was pretty much optional, but I just wore it as to glam the outfit a little more. Originally I wanted to wear a large ring, however I soon figured that it will be too much. As the bracelet wrap as well as the top is very statement-y. Adding a large ring that is meant to be a statement will overpower the entire outfit. Hence I swapped it with my favorite zebra ring. (:

And of course(?), I never leave the house for school without my trusty black pumps (:

and with that, my outfit is done! :D

EDITTTT; my necklace is the one that Jia Qi got for me at Disney Land, USA! (: have been wearing it since I'm not sure when :D but it's so pretty and girly especially since it has a thin chain (:
